We are so thrilled to be once again offering our weekly Forest School day on Fridays. This once-a-week program is designed for traditional and homeschooled students to gain experiential, environmental learning outdoors, immersed in Mother Nature’s classroom. As educators, we have the great honour of guiding participants, ages 4-12 years, to lead the way on The Mountain, witnessing them develop their intuitions and acquired skills while navigating uneven terrain, as well as variations in weather and social dynamics. As parents, you will notice the benefits from this spilling over to life at home! Created to be child-led, we build upon students’ interests, offering them in meaningful activities and practices that lend well to their more structured curriculum indoors, providing them opportunities to be wild and free; their truest selves! Forest School Fridays are a wonderful way to supplement your child’s learning on PED-days, mental health or extra-curricular days or as a regular weekly class. This season we are catering to smaller group sizes, ensuring a focused teacher to student ratio. Be sure to register or learn more here before we are full. Feel free to contact us at teams@motherinthewild.com with any further questions.
Other October Offerings
Trinati, also known as “Mother in the Wild”, has developed another creative program that uses her yogic skills to support children and their families in self-regulating. Her Prana + Play practices, currently hosted at Studio Morpho Bleu in NDG, are accessible for participants, 4-10 years old. During these enriching 1-hour classes from 1:30-2:30pm on Sundays (starting on October 13), students get the chance to learn various breathing techniques, fun movements, create visual art works and use sound/song to manage their energies and emotions. In this 5-class series, parents and caregivers can just drop-off or relax, sip tea and read in the studio’s lounge OR take your own hot yoga class across the hall at the same time. On the final class of the series, families are welcomed to learn from Trinati AND their child in order to integrate these techniques within your homes! Register for the entire session or by class at www.morpho-bleu.com.
On Sunday, October 20 from 3-7pm, Mother in the Wild joins forces with Shake La Cabane AT La Cabane, a community hub for homeschoolers and conscious families alike, located in Rosemont. MTL Shake events are daytime dance parties for people of ALL ages! Trinati will be reading some kid-friendly spooktacular stories LIVE before the dance floor takes over, where her friends and fellow Montreal parents, A-Rock and Shaydakiss, will be DJing, playing tunes that inspire both the young and old! The vibe is one that only a village can bring; a multigenerational dance that gets both babies and their great-grannies moving and shaking, rocking together! Wholesome dinner, drinks and treats will also be served. Contact Trinati to volunteer at this event or attend as a guest by purchasing tickets here.
Thanks for reading!
There is so much else to share, but for now we will keep it brief!
It is a real privilege to be able to do the work we love and share it with families who have the availability to join. If you find yourself in circumstances that prevent you from accessing any of these events, please reach out to Trinati directly to learn about how to collaborate so that your family can also benefit from these offerings.
